Our Mission
To celebrate and support those raising kids in the greater Charlottesville area.
Our Vision
We will enable Charlottesville parents to come together to take advantage of all the unique opportunities and adventures available in this beautiful area while also working to create more community, unity and support for local parents and families. By both celebrating and stewarding, we can make family life in the area stronger, healthy and fun!
What We Believe
- Charlottesville is a great place to raise kids! With outdoor activities, great local businesses, and easy access to adventure, there are plenty of opportunities to have fun as a parent and to nurture our kids. We celebrate this area.
- Each child is special and unique – and they all deserve a chance to explore who they are and to be loved.
- Each family is special and unique – no two families are the same and we respect any and all families operating out of love and respect.
- Parents have a lot on their plates and a lot of dimensions to their lives. We strive to support well-rounded and happy parents.
- Encouragement and information are needed more than competition in today’s world of parenting and raising kids.
- A healthy lifestyle isn’t always the easiest, but with positive and empowering support, we can take the steps needed together to cultivate healthy family lives.
- Raising children is challenging, even in the best of times, and that is why we need each other. By coming together in honest community, we can help each other be the best we can be.
Our Responsibilities
To celebrate, support and cultivate the community of people raising kids in the Charlottesville area, we will speak only words of honesty and support. As parents ourselves, we will be actively engaged with the community. We will support children of all ages, genders, races, abilities, phases and identities. We do not discriminate against any family that supports their children in a loving manner. We will acknowledge inequities and do what we can to increase awareness of these as well as what we can to help rectify those. We will be responsible stewards to all words, comments and questions sent to us, but we will not tolerate shaming or hateful words or comments to others or ourselves. We will give back to the community to increase the support network for children in our area.
